Continuous School Improvement Based on Effective Schools Research
This session focuses on collaborative processes; consensus-building strategies relative to mission, beliefs, and values; and the selection of essential learnings. Dr. Lezotte identifies the framework necessary to support the building blocks of a continuous improvement system. The theory of action is based on the integration of three theories: Effective Schools, systems, and continuous improvement. Practical examples of successful implementation will be provided.
Tools for Supporting Continuous School Improvement
Experience a hands-on demonstration of six different tools that can be used to support continuous school improvement. Dr. Lezotte focuses on the tool designed to identify the cultural values associated with effective schools. You will also have the opportunity to work through Schein’s Three Levels of Culture and learn the principles for conducting a root-cause analysis. Finally, three online tools that support continuous school improvement—Reality Check, Teacher Best Practices, and Effective Schools Research LiNK—will be demonstrated.
