Alan Addley
Alan Addley is superintendent of Granby Public Schools in Granby, Connecticut. Formerly as principal of Granby Memorial High School, Alan led his staff in implementing Professional Learning Communities at Work™ concepts with great results. Student achievement increased in all standardized testing areas, and Granby became the first public high school recognized by the State Department of Education as a Connecticut Vanguard High-Performing School. A sought-after public speaker, Alan offers teachers and administrators practical strategies for building PLCs in their schools and shares proven solutions to the hurdles along the way.
For his leadership at Granby, Alan was nominated for the Connecticut Association of Schools Principal of the Year Award. He has conducted PLC workshops for the Northeast Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Connecticut Association of Schools, Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, Wake County School System, and Toronto School Board. He is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, ASCD, Connecticut Association of Schools, and New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
Alan earned a bachelor of science in education and mathematics from the University of Ulster, Coleraine, Northern Ireland, and a master of science in instructional management and curriculum from Western Connecticut State University.
