FAQ

Events

Do I need to have a team to attend a 2-day workshop? Because research indicates that you will enjoy the event more and be more likely to implement new learning if you come with a team, we recommend it. However, we have participants who come alone to every workshop. Our presenters try to optimize the learning by grouping individuals into a team or by finding a like group for the individual to join.

Will this workshop be worthwhile for me to attend as an individual or should I wait until I can register with a team? It depends on the workshop, but most are designed with a team in mind. Several incorporate a fair amount of team planning time. That being said, many individuals attend with a "train-the-trainer" approach and plan their presentation during team time.

Are meals included at your events? It depends on the event, so refer to the individual event webpage for details. Solution Tree has secured venues that are near numerous restaurants.

How do I get proof/credits that I attended one of your events? I did not receive a certificate. Contact institutes@solution-tree.com.

How do I substitute another attendee? Send your request to institutes@solution-tree.com.

Can I email my registration for an event? Yes, email your registration to registration@solution-tree.com.

How do I bring one of your events to my school/area? Call our customer service team at 800.733.6786 or send us an email. We'll be happy to talk with you about your needs.

Webinars

Are your webinars recorded? Yes, and they are posted for 60 days on our webinars page.

Can I get credit for attending webinars? We don't offer credit, but you can get proof that you attended by emailing your request to webinars@solution-tree.com.

eBooks

Where can I purchase eBooks of Solution Tree, Marzano Research Laboratory, or Triple Nickel Press publications? There are many places you can purchase eBooks of our publications in a variety of formats suited for different devices, platforms, web browsers, and user needs. Some of the most popular are:

  • solution-tree.com/products/ebooks.html (Olive eBooks, for Adobe Flash-enabled computers and devices with Internet access; not compatible with iPhone or iPad)
  • Amazon (for Kindle)
  • Baker & Taylor (Axis 360, for libraries)
  • Barnes & Noble (for Nook)
  • Blio (for Windows, Android, and iOS)
  • Follett (Titlewave, for libraries)
  • Apple iBookstore (for iPhone/iPad)
  • Kobo (for Kobo readers)
  • VitalSource (for higher education)

Not all titles are available in all formats; new titles are added regularly.

How can I determine if the publication I need is available for my eBook reader (Kindle, Nook, or another)? The best way is to simply check the retail website associated with your reader. The Olive eBooks sold on Solution Tree’s website do not require a reader and cannot be imported to a reader. They are meant for reading online using a computer or device that is Flash-enabled. Devices such as Kindle Fire that have Internet access and are Flash-enabled may be able to support Olive eBooks. To see if your computer or device is able to open and run Solution Tree’s Olive eBooks, click to view sample chapters from 21st Century Skills, the sixth book in our best-selling Leading Edge series.

Do you publish eBooks for the iPad? Yes, please visit the iBookstore and search by title or publisher to find titles available. There is also an app for the iPad to enable it to use eBooks purchased from Amazon and there may be other crossplatform apps as well. The web-based books on Solution Tree’s website use Flash and are not compatible with the iPad or iPhone.

How do I know which eBook format to buy? Before choosing a vendor, you’ll need to decide what kind of eBook you need, based in part on what device you’ll use to read it. Here are some questions to consider:

  • Do you want to read your eBook on your eBook reader? Visit the retail website for that e-reader.
  • Do you want to read your eBook on your computer, tablet, android, netbook, or handheld device? A variety of formats, including the Solution Tree Olive eBook, can be read on these devices. Solution Tree Olive eBooks require Internet access and Flash. Users with androids may need to visit their app store for an android app to install Flash and then to enable Flash. To see if your computer or device is able to open and run Solution Tree’s Olive eBooks, click to view sample chapters from 21st Century Skills, the sixth book in our best-selling Leading Edge series.
  • Do you want to read your eBook on your iPhone or iPad? Visit the iBookstore.
  • Do you want to read your eBook on an android device, tablet, netbook, or other non-Apple device? Visit your app store to determine which vendors offer android apps. If your device supports Flash, be sure that Flash is not only installed, but also enabled.
  • Do you want the ability to click through URLs to access related material mentioned in the book? Several formats offer this feature, including Solution Tree eBooks.
  • Is your device Flash-enabled? If you have an iPad or iPhone, it is not Flash-enabled, and eBooks from the iBookstore are the most compatible. If you have an android, it may be able to run Flash. Before purchasing a Solution Tree Olive eBook to read on your android, check to be sure Flash is both installed and enabled.
  • Will you need to change the font size? Several formats offer this feature, including Solution Tree Olive eBooks.

What format do the Olive eBooks on Solution Tree’s website use? The eBooks on Solution Tree’s website use a proprietary web-based format from Olive Software. It is intended for online reading using a computer or device that has Internet access and is Flash-enabled. iPads and iPhones are not Flash-enabled and will not run Solution Tree’s Olive eBooks.

Flash is required to run Solution Tree’s Olive eBooks. Your computer or device must have Flash installed and enabled. Flash is a free program available for download at www.get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

How can I test if Olive eBooks are compatible with my computer or device? To see if your computer or device is able to open and run Solution Tree’s Olive eBooks, click to view sample chapters from 21st Century Skills, the sixth book in our best-selling Leading Edge series.

Can I download Olive eBooks to read when I am offline? There is no file to download. Some browsers and systems do allow Olive eBooks to be cached to read offline. There are many different Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.). Due to constant browser and device version updates, Solution Tree cannot provide a comprehensive list of which ones will allow caching.

To see if your computer or device allows caching, click to view sample chapters from 21st Century Skills, the sixth book in our best-selling Leading Edge series.

When the eBook opens, click on the disc icon at the top right of the screen. You will see two options. If you can select “Offline Book Browsing” or “Bookmark Page in Browser,” your computer or device supports these features.

If your computer or device does not support these features, you will still be able to read your Olive eBooks as long as you have Internet access.

What features do the Olive eBooks on Solution Tree’s website offer? Solution Tree’s Olive eBooks offer the following features:

  • No e-reader is required.
  • No file is downloaded, so once you’ve purchased the eBook, you can access it from any computer or device that has Internet access and is Flash-enabled. If you lose your computer or device, your eBook library will be intact and waiting for you online.
  • The Olive eBook looks like a book! Fonts, design elements, graphics, and art all look just as they do in print. You can choose single- or two-page viewing.
  • Use the search bar to find relevant content quickly.
  • Click on the table of contents to jump to a specific chapter.
  • Click on live links to immediately visit websites mentioned in the text.
  • Zoom in to enlarge the text to suit your vision and reading preferences.

I’d like to purchase multiple copies of an Olive eBook for my staff. Is that possible? Yes, if you provide a list of every username and email address for each eBook.

I’d like to purchase an Olive eBook for an electronic library. Is that possible?
